We are so excited it’s May because Nurse Appreciation Week is right around the corner on May 6. According to the American Nurses Association, this year’s theme, “Nurses Make the Difference,” honors the incredible nurses who embody the spirit of compassion and care in every healthcare setting.

We are so happy we get to interface with nurses. We LOVE NURSES! Like really love them in so many ways… but listing them would take all day so we stuck with five.

Five Reasons We Love Nurses

5—Nurses’ Care. Above all, nurses’ care for their patients is the heart of healthcare.

4—Nurses Explain Things. Sometimes, health jargon can be confusing and overwhelm not only the patient but also their family. Nurses often take the time to explain medical terms in a way that their patients and their families can understand.

3—Nurses Are Patient. Not only do nurses serve their patients, but they are also patient while doing so. Nurses take the time needed to care for and help rehabilitate their patients with patience.

2- Nurses Do the Tough Work. Let’s face it: working in a clinical setting can sometimes be physically demanding and emotionally draining. Nurses are there, committed, and consistent. They show up to a different situation every day and come prepared.

1- Is there anything a Nurse Can’t Do? Nurses are the heart of health care – from working closely with doctors to interpreting labs and executing patient care, they do it all.

At Sunways, we are fortunate to work with a nurse. Our very own Senior Living Concierge, Danielle is a registered nurse. She uses her experience in nursing to help seniors find care and resources. If you or someone you know needs help navigating the senior care maze, please give us a call.
