Last week was Case Manager Awareness Week, and we had the opportunity to celebrate over 250 Case Managers along the Suncoast.
According to Indeed, a case manager is responsible for helping those with chronic illness, mental health issues, or life-altering conditions to gain access to rehabilitation programs and other community services. Their duties include meeting with clients and their families, connecting clients with professional services, and maintaining consistent communication with clients to assess their well-being and make changes to their treatment plans as needed. (https://www.indeed.com/hire/job-description/case-manager) Well, that’s a mouthful, but essentially case managers are superheroes.
This past week, we had the opportunity to connect with so many case managers in the middle of their busy days. We saw firsthand the pace, and patience their work requires. Not to mention the catastrophic hurricane that had Case Managers working around the clock to help. They do it all, often with a smile on their face.
