Being a family caregiver for an aging loved one can be overwhelming and lonely if you’re going through it alone. It’s important to have a team around you that can make sure you’re prepared and supported through this ever-changing journey. Here are 4 essential pillars that you need in your corner:

We can’t stress enough how important a support group or individual is to the Caregiver’s journey. This could be online, on the phone, or an in-person group, but could also be in the form of a therapist that you see one-on-one if a group setting isn’t your thing. It’s critical to have access to supportive, unbiased insight. Caregivers should be able to vent in a safe place, and also hear from others who are navigating similar waters to feel less alone.  You can’t pour from an empty cup.
