We are big believers that often when things are meant to be, they happen. That’s how we felt when we started talking to Chrisi Adamson about our mission at Sunways Senior Living. Chrisi, oddly enough was looking for a chance to transition into a position that allowed her to use her skills in counseling, real estate and express her passion to help others. Lucky for us, we connected and realized that Chrisi is the perfect person to join Sunways Senior Living. She embodies Sunways core values of advocacy, empowerment, optimism, transparency, and empathy. Chrisi is the perfect addition to our team and we are excited to have her join our team as our Operations Manager!
Read below to learn more about Chrisi. We hope you love her as much as we do! Welcome to the family, Chrisi.
Tell us a little about yourself:
I moved to Sarasota in 2005 after completing my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Alfred University. I loved everything about sunny FL and even found and married a local (born and raised) Florida boy, Ryan. I have two children Finnley (5) and Eli (7) who make our lives the beautiful, crazy mess that it is. We have a pirate dog named Skipper who loves our days on the boat as much as we do. I enjoy horseback riding and live for the company of good people and good food.
What’s your previous work experience?
I was a school counselor for over 8 years in Manatee County School District until the birth of my son. I was fortunate to be able to transition into the family business of real estate with my father-in-law. My husband has since joined the real estate group and it seemed to be a good time for me to find my way back to a profession that allowed me to use my background and experience in counseling. I am all about connecting people to the next person or path that can help, as they say; I don’t have all the answers but love working to help someone find them.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town called Cuba, NY (about 80 miles south of Buffalo). It was a small town that people can only dream about these days. I went to Alfred University, a small private college also in Western NY. I was on the ski team!
What do you do for fun?
As a family and really to my core, I live for the beach or the boat. We love to travel (when that was a thing) and I grew up on a horse farm and still try to ride when I can.
What are you passionate about?
Oh, my husband would likely say a better question is what ISN’T she passionate about?! 🙂 I feel very passionately about helping our community. I feel everyone should get the chance to matter and be seen. I live to make someone feel like they aren’t alone in whatever struggle they may be facing.
Any weird personality traits/ quirks?
Ha! Well, my brain moves fast and my mouth can keep up. Also, I talk to my dog just like he’s going to answer me.
Maybe he will Chrisi, maybe he will. Regardless, we are psyched to have you. Welcome to the family! Visit our website for ways Sunways Senior Living Concierge can help your family.
