1. Is the Veteran or surviving spouse 65 years or older?
2. The Veteran has served at least 1 day during a wartime period.

3. The Veteran must have served at least 90 consecutive days of active duty.
4. Surviving spouse must have been married to Veteran at the time of the Veteran’s passing – and has not remarried.
5. The Veteran and/or spouse needs assistance with at least 2 of the 6 activities of daily life (ADLs) that would require care and are confirmed by an Affidavit from a physician.
ADLs include things like dressing; bathing; eating.
6. The Veteran’s gross monthly income is equal to or LESS than the gross monthly cost of in-home care or the cost of the Senior Living Community.
7. The Veteran’s TOTAL assets meet the income requirements.
